Your cloud vendor doesn’t protect your data
Intuit and Xero run world-class infrastructure — redundant servers, encrypted transit, 99.9% uptime SLAs. But their Terms of Service draw a hard line: they protect the platform, not your data. If a sync error overwrites your chart of accounts, if a disgruntled employee bulk-deletes invoices, or if a phishing attack compromises your login — the recovery is on you.
“Aggregate liability capped at the greater of 12 months of fees or $100.”
“You are responsible for maintaining copies of your data. Xero has no obligation to restore deleted data.”
