Xero and QuickBooks maintain infrastructure backups for their own disaster recovery. Their ToS is explicit: these cannot restore your individual organisation, recover a deleted contact, or roll back a bad import. They are not a backup for you.
CSV exports lose relational data, attachment links, journal references, and reconciliation status. You cannot restore a working Xero org from a CSV. And most firms are weeks or months between exports — if they export at all.
Dropbox, OneDrive, and generic backup tools can back up files — but your Xero or QBO data lives in the cloud, not on your hard drive. These tools have nothing to back up.
